ABOUT THE TEAM
The Spalding COVID-19 Kindness Team has been set up in March 2020 with volunteers and businesses ready to deliver essentials to Spalding & Pinchbeck vulnerable residents who are either struggling with shopping or self-isolating at home.
The group was set up by mum-of-two Keira Williamson, a part-time pharmacy assistant at Sainsbury’s, after she watched an elderly man struggling to find the things he needed.
Within 24 hours of setting up Spalding COVID Kindness Team, the site gained 200 followers, 10 volunteers and businesses Fenland Fruit and Veg, A Country Kitchen and Morrisons stepped forward.

As well as helping with shopping, the group is here to guard against loneliness – by offering a friendly phone call – and with things like posting letters and delivering urgent supplies.
After a call for volunteers, eight teams have been assembled in and around the town and a committee formed to oversee the operation which includes District Councillors Jack McLean and Rob Gibson. The Kindness Team are using the closed-to-the-public Pinchbeck Library as hub for its project.
Safety is the most important aspect of the whole operation and our volunteers are safe-distancing, only travelling when necessary and dropping off items at doorsteps.

Please note that our members would never cold-call anyone unannounced and would only respond to requests made to the team by you or your family member. We don’t require you to sign any documents or provide payments for our services.
